Remember Carly Rae Scholarship

This scholarship honors Carly Rae Baron, a 2016 graduate of Eugene Ashley High School who tragically lost her life to gun violence in 2020.

Sponsored by AHFF and the Baron family, it awards multiple $1,000 scholarships to graduating New Hanover County seniors.

Carly Rae Baron Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship awards two $2,000 scholarships annually to varsity athletes at Eugene Ashley High School — one male and one female. Carly was a dedicated Screaming Eagle, playing softball for 2 years and basketball all 4 years before continuing her basketball journey at Cape Fear Community College and later UNC-Wilmington.
This award uplifts student-athletes who reflect Carly’s drive, leadership, and unwavering spirit.

Be bright, sunny and positive. Know your roots. Spread seeds of happiness. Rise, shine and hold your head up high. Keep on growing. Even on the darkest days, stand tall and find the sunlight.
